Bruce Springsteen at the Hammersmith Odeon Ep. 2

HI GUYS!!!! MY MIC DIED AGAIN! SO I WILL DO MY TALKING HERE

ok welcome to thee kitty's back! my favorite live springsteen track ever (well. maybe. you'll have to tune in in the future to see if that changes) Springsteen wrote this track for his second album, 1973's the wild the innocent and the e street shuffle. After his folksy debut, he wanted to show his audience his blues and hard rock roots (Springsteen's 2nd band was the hard rock jersey shore group steel mill! some of their stuff is on youtube, check it out!). Kitty's back is this homage to his time as a blues bar band, and is a live staple. it cycles through solos showcasing the e street band, starting with danny federici on organ, roy bittan on piano, and then himself on guitar followed by a duet with Clarence Clemons on sax. and even wilder, I GOT TO SEE IT! LAST MONDAY I GOT A LAST CALL DISCOUNT TICKET TO THE BRUCE SHOW 4 HOURS BEFORE THE CONCERT!!!! AND GUESS WHAT HE PLAYED!! A 12 MINUTE KITTY'S BACK! he played for 3 HOURS STRAIGHT GUYSSSS, 2 ENCORES! it was the best night of my life

the other track I want to discuss is the fucking HAUNTING for you, with springsteen on solo piano. This song... originally recorded for his debut greetings from asbury park, the song is a poetic verse pleading to a lover after a supposed suicide attempt. everything about the song is heart wrenching but on the album its a fast-paced organ ditty, and played live he transforms it into an 8 minute piano ballad. The lyrics show the wordsmith talent of springsteen that is often overshadowed. It's also my butch boyfriends favorite song :-) hi jude
