Seattle's Very Own Giant Sequoia
this week's set is dedicated to the tallest tree on campus! narrowly beating out the 125 foot tall douglas fir located behind savery hall, this giant sequoia stands at a WHOPPING 128 feet and can be found in UW's medicinal herb garden. a fun fact about sequoia’s is that they can live to be 3000 years old and each tree only needs to produce one viable offspring during its entire lifespan in order for the species to persist. if you ever find yourself in the presence of this great tree, you’ll instantly be shrouded by a sense of stillness. with that, tonight's episode features some songs I find to be quite harmonic.

Bergenia Cordifolia 'Winter Glow'
this week is devoted to bergenia cordifolia <aka winter glow>! a type of evergreen perennial, this plant doesn't shed its original, heart-shaped, leaves until they replaced with new growth come spring. it may lose its lovely clusters of pink flowers during the fall and winter months, but it is resolute! strong! and can withstand the harsh and unforgiving winter. as such, this week’s rotation is all about loss and resilience.
